SIDE AIRBAG SENSOR (for Regular Cab) > REMOVAL

CAUTION:
Some of these service operations affect the SRS airbag system. Read the precautionary notices concerning the SRS airbag system before servicing (Click here).

HINT:
  1. Use the same procedure for the LH side and RH side.
  2. The procedure listed below is the LH side.


1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.


2. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE

  1. Disengage the 8 claws and clip, and remove the front door scuff plate.



3. REMOVE SIDE AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY

CAUTION:
Confirm that the cable is disconnected from the battery negative (-) terminal. Even an impact to only the airbag sensor will cause the airbag to deploy.

  1. Slide the outer housing and disconnect the airbag connector.

  1. Remove the bolt.

  1. Disengage the guide and remove the side airbag sensor.
