POWER WINDOW CONTROL SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
The power window control system controls the power windows up/down function using the regulator motors.
The main controls of this system are: the power window regulator master switch, which is built into the driver side door, and the power window regulator switches, which are built into the front passenger side door and rear doors*. Pressing a regulator switch either any of the switches on the master switch transmits an up/down signal to the corresponding power window regulator motor.
The jam protection function operates using a magnet on the worm gear of the power window regulator motor and the Hall ICs on the connector.
*: for Double Cab

FUNCTION OF MAIN COMPONENT
*1: for Double Cab
*2: except Double Cab
*3: w/o Regulator
*4: w/ Regulator

Component
Outline
Power window regulator master switch assembly
  1. Controls window operations for all windows
  2. When window lock switch is set to lock position, window operation will only be possible with power window regulator master switch assembly
Power window regulator switch assembly
  1. Located on front passenger side door and rear doors*1
  2. Located on front passenger side door*2
  3. Each regulator switch controls window operations for its respective window
Power window regulator motor assembly*3
Door window regulator sub-assembly*4
  1. Receives switch signals and changes signals into motor activation to change window position
  2. Front power window regulator motor assembly (for driver side)*3 or front door window regulator sub-assembly (for driver side)*4 uses pulse sensors to detect window position

SYSTEM FUNCTION
The power window control system has the following functions.
*1: for Driver Side
*2: for Double Cab
*3: except Double Cab
*4: w/o Regulator
*5: w/ Regulator

Function
Outline
Manual up/down function
  1. Driver side power window:
Function that raises window while power window regulator master switch assembly is pulled halfway up, and lowers window while pushed halfway down (window stops as soon as switch is released)
  2. Other power windows:
Function that raises window while power window regulator switch assembly is pulled up, and lowers window while pushed down (window stops as soon as switch is released)
Auto up/down function*1
Function that enables window of driver side door to be fully opened or fully closed by one full push downward or one full pull upward on power window regulator master switch assembly, respectively
Jam protection function*1
Function that automatically stops driver side power window and moves it downward if object is jammed in driver side power window during auto up operation
Remote up/down function
  1. Function that allows power window regulator master switch assembly to control manual up/down operation of front passenger side power window and rear power windows*2
  2. Function that allows power window regulator master switch assembly to control manual up/down operation of front passenger side power window*3
Window lock function
  1. Function that disables front passenger side power window and rear power window operations when window lock switch of power window regulator master switch assembly is pressed
  2. Front passenger side power window and rear power windows can be operated when window lock switch is pressed again*2
  3. Front passenger side power window can be operated when window lock switch is pressed again*3
Diagnosis*1
  1. Function that allows power window regulator master switch assembly to detect malfunctions in power window system and make diagnoses
  2. Power window regulator master switch light (AUTO light) illuminates or starts blinking to inform driver
Fail-safe*1
  1. Function that disables driver side power window auto up/down function if pulse sensors (Hall ICs) in power window regulator motor assembly*4 or door window regulator sub-assembly*5 have malfunction
  2. Manual operation is possible through power window regulator switches
