GENERAL
  1. This system has a rear television camera mounted on the back door to assist the driver in parking the vehicle by displaying an image of the area behind the vehicle. The system displays the image on the radio and display receiver assembly.

  2. This system consists of the following components:

    1. Radio and display receiver assembly

    2. Rear television camera assembly

    3. Park/neutral position switch assembly*1

    4. Back-up light switch assembly*2


FUNCTION OF COMPONENTS
  1. The radio and display receiver assembly controls the system by using information from the following components:

    1. Mounted on the back door to transmit an image of the area behind the vehicle to the radio and display receiver assembly.
    2. Has a color video camera that uses a CCD (Charge Coupled Device) and wide-angle lens.
    Radio and display receiver assembly
    1. Receives the video signals which contain an image of the area behind the vehicle taken with the rear television camera.
    2. Performs control of the system by receiving a shift position signal from the park/neutral position switch assembly*1 or back-up light switch assembly*2.
    3. Displays the rear view monitor image on the display panel.

    Transmits a reverse signal to the radio and display receiver assembly.
    Back-up light switch assembly*2
    Transmits a reverse signal to the radio and display receiver assembly.

OPERATION EXPLANATION
  1. The park/neutral position switch assembly*1 or back-up light switch assembly*2 outputs the R position signal to the radio and display receiver assembly when the shift lever is moved to R. After receiving the R position signal, the radio and display receiver assembly switches to the rear view monitor system.
